Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available onsite.
Do you run year-round?
We offer term time only lessons Monday to Friday after school.
Do I need to bring armbands for my child?
No, we provide the equipment and use aquaplane floats for non-swimmers/beginner groups.
Goggles
The wearing of goggles is down to the individual. Parents/carers are advised to ensure their child knows how to fit and adjust their goggles properly.
What age can my child join and start swimming from?
We take children from the age of 4.5 years who can stand comfortably in the water at a depth of 0.9m (3ft).
How many children in a class?
There are a maximum of 8 children in each class and have three different ability groups at one time.
Are teachers in the water?
Yes, our teachers are in the water in the earlier sessions and teach on poolside for improver+ groups. In beginner and basic improver groups each teacher will have a minimum of two helpers in the water with them, offering support to the children.
How long are the children’s sessions and what is the cost per lesson?
30 minute sessions are for beginners and basic improvers, at a cost of £6.85 per lesson.
45 minute sessions are for improvers to advanced, at a cost of £8.15 per lesson.
Do you do adult sessions?
Yes, adult sessions take place on a Friday 7:45pm - 8:30pm. We offer recreational and 1:1 lessons. We do keep a waiting list for adult beginners, should a place not be immediately available. If you would like more information please do not hesitate to get in contact.
Recreational swim - £6.10 per lesson.
1:1 lesson - £8.35 per lesson.
How to enrol for lessons? -
If you would like your child to swim at PWSG, please do get in contact either via email or phone. Enrolments are taken at any time throughout the term providing a place is available. We do keep a waiting list should we not be able to accommodate you straight away. Fees are payable on confirmation of booking and before lessons start.
Do parents / carer stay?
Yes, all young children should be accompanied by a parent /carer who must stay at the venue for the duration of the lesson. There are benches on the pool side.
What if my child is nervous?
Our teachers are experienced with dealing with nervous children, they, along with our helpers will always try their best to get children in the water and make them feel comfortable
How to make a payment?
You can pay by BACS / Cheque / Cash
1. BACS: please email me rebeccapwsg@yahoo.com for details and let me know when this has been done, so I can confirm payment has been received.
2. Cheque payments: please make cheques payable to Rebecca Constable with your child’s name on the reverse of the cheque.
3. Cash: Please have this in a sealed named envelope.
If paying by methods 2 & 3 please return to; 75 Ladies Mile Road, Patcham, Brighton, BN1 8TB
You can choose to either make a full payment or three payments over the term using any of the above methods. Please email me to discuss agreed payment date if making part payments.
Missed/late payment?
A date is given for enrolment for the new term, if the date is missed please contact PWSG as soon as possible. I can then confirm if your child’s place is still available, if it is then you just need to pay. If your space has gone, I will try to find you a suitable alternative.
What happens if I miss a week or a number of sessions?
Should a child not be able to attend due to illness or holiday, no refund will be given. If this is a regular occurrence, please do get in contact so we can discuss this further.
Am I able to change the evening my child swims?
Please email me rebeccapwsg@yahoo.com with what days are suitable for you and I will let you know the appropriate times and if there is availability.
How soon will my child swim?
Every child is different so we endeavour to progress every child as an individual to promote their personal progress so they are comfortable and gain the confidence to swim. If you would like a progress update, please speak to your child’s teacher at the end of their lesson or feel free to email me.
Do you have Lost Property?
We check the changing areas at the end of each evening so please ensure your child’s clothes are named. Also, we suggest you initial their googles with permanent marker. Please do get in contact if you/your child have lost any belongings.
Please note that all items left on the premises are left entirely at the owner's risk. We cannot be held responsible for any lost or damaged items.
